scribble's daily dragon

dragon sketches, and dare we say "art", daily by scribble.

Hello, and welcome!

This is the very first post on my very own blog. A bit of history...

Recently, I found myself with a lot of free time on my hands, as well as bemoaning the loss of my creativity. Well, it's not really lost, but still... Anyway.

So I decided to give myself a goal of drawing at least one sketch a day. It didn't need to be a good sketch, necessarily. It didn't need to be the preliminary workings for a finished work of art. It was just important that I sketch, on a consistent, regular basis.

Somewhere around the third or fourth sketch, I came up with the idea of the Daily Dragon. Anyone who knows me knows that I like dragons, and that I collect soft sculpture/stuffed dragons. So I decided that this would be my goal. Draw at least one dragon a day.

I will be the first to admit that I don't always hit this goal. I often have "catch-up days" where I am drawing two or more dragons for days that I missed. But at least I am cracking open the sketchbook on a more frequent basis than before, which was practically never.

I will also be the first to admit that, well... some of these sketches are kinda crappy. Make that incredibly crappy. You may think otherwise once you see them. However, it's less about the final product and more about the process, at least at this point.

My hope is that I can get things scanned and posted on this blog in the next few days. I'm sure once I have a system down, I can keep up with it. So keep watching. Hopefully, you'll see progress soon.

So thanks for stopping by, and again, welcome.
